This is a breathtaking destination for scuba diving, snorkeling, and exploration. Legendary diver Jacques Cousteau described the Sea of Cortez as the “world’s aquarium.” Dive on untouched walls and reefs abounding in marine life. Encounter large and small whale species, snorkel with whale sharks, dive with playful sea lion colonies, and see countless eels, octopuses, fish, and jumping mobula rays. It’s a macro photographer’s dream with nudibranchs, colorful blennies, dancing jawfish, and sea horses.

HOW TO GET THERE
Most guests fly into the Phoenix, Arizona Sky Harbor Airport (airport code PHX) to get to Puerto Penasco. A private shuttle company, Head Out To Rocky Point, picks up everyone at 1 pm at the airport. They have large, 12-passenger, air-conditioned vans with trailers for the luggage. They stop along the way for a restroom break, and there is a grocery store if you want to pick up snacks or beverages to bring on board (including alcoholic beverages). The shuttle gets you to the boat by 5:30 pm. They pick up at 7:30 am and get everyone to the airport by noon at the end of the trip. They are experienced in crossing the border and assisting guests all along the way. The price for this is $150-200 per person. Aggieland Scuba will arrange for the transportation.
Everyone must stop at the border and purchase a FMM, a Mexican Tourist Card. The cost is about $36. It can also be purchased in advance online.
FLIGHTS: (NOT INCLUDED)
Arrive in PHX before 11:00am on Sept 7. (You could also arrive on Sept 6 and spend the night, and meet back at the airport.)
Departure: Arrange your flight to depart AFTER 1:00pm on Sept 14.
